This is a great mat! After two months, 40 yoga-hours, and at least 1,000 Sun Salutations, the mat shows zero wear. I have always received exceptional service with Amazon. For all the P90X work out folks out there, this is the mat, perfect for yoga and all other workouts. I put my knees into it all the time and it feels just fine. The mat is rolled out over vinyl flooring, so the mat is all the cushion I have.
Don't waste your money. This mat has more cushion than others which is great.
It's a high quality mat that's real sticky and doesn't move at all during fast-paced yoga. It's nicely cushioned and the static yoga poses now feel so much better.
I have used it a few times and it is the most comfortable mat I have ever used. It doesn't slip on the floor (any surface) and it doesn't let you slip either.
The mat is the same 1/4 inch depth as my other mat, however the material is superior, as it provides a firmer support and cushion of my knees, hands, feet and spine. I would recommend this mat and Amazon to anyone.
I also bruise my knees easily and this mat cushions my knees just fine! Practicing yoga one or two times a day on hard wood floors on thinner mats causes my knees to hurt in some postures. With the Manduka, there was an immediate difference. It never bunches up and gets stickier with use. Many of the reviews I read before I bought it complain about slipperiness of new Manduka mats, but I haven't had that problem. The very first time I used it, it was less slippery than the moderately priced mats (Gaiam, etc.) I've always used.
This new mat is truly a great product. It's much thicker and provides cushion and support. I suppose some folks may find it too heavy but it is still less than ten pounds and have no problem with that. There is the perfect amount of grip and the stability is excellent. This is a wonderful mat. It will take your practice to a new level and last a lifetime.
I also didn't agree with some of the other reviews saying it was too heavy. It's a bit heavy, but not too much to carry around all over -- I made a carry handle from a yoga strap (looped over both ends of the rolled up mat) and throw it over my shoulder.
If you bring your own mat you always know where it's been. <a href="http://sugarfreefoods.net/clif-protein-bars-feed-your-body-right-with-a-pack-of-these/">DETOUR PROTEIN BAR</a>.
