The Bonus Benefits Of Strength Training For Women

by Taylor Ryan

I have been relying on strength training to keep my body fit for about 10 years now. It was at that time that I grew tired of working out and not seeing the results I expected, so I grabbed a weight and started with some simple curls and light lunge walks.

It started as a way to burn fat and tone up but over time it’s become so much more! It’s critical that we treat our body well while we’re younger because today’s actions will determine tomorrow’s outcomes.

I am serious, if you’ve been nervous about strength training then just try it and reach these benefits to make it more worth while for you, if you don’t feel comfortable with the idea of weight lifting, then do circuit training workouts.

Did you know that lifting weights helps increase your bone strength. Far too many women will see their bones weaken with age and end up with a broken hip, unnecessarily. This deterioration of the bones occurs in over 75 million women in the US, Europe and Japan. It’s amazing but adding in weight training ads weight to your bones so they will become stronger right along with your muscles, you can even rebuild bone density if you are already seeing a decrease in bone strength.

Don’t worry, be happy. Working out is proven to help control your hormones, they also help to induce endorphin production and let’s not forget that just working out in general can help to relieve some stress from the day.

If you aren’t sleeping at the quality that you like, then adding in your workouts can make the difference and even help boost your energy during your waking hours too.

Lifting weight makes you sweat (hopefully) which helps to flush toxins out of your system, helps prevent breakouts, and even helps your skin to look younger... interesting but oh so true.

Improve join strength... running one mile puts tons of weight on your joints. That’s why so many runners suffer from knee, hip and/or ankle pain. But strength training can help keep joints healthy, and strong to prevent injury in the long run.

I hope this brought some bonus benefits to your table? A lot, but also take this... in studies, strength training has been shown time and time again to be more efficient at burning body fat and changing your body composition than cardio based workouts.
