The barbell is probably next up, and it will help you focus on heavy weights for particular muscle groups. The last step is to work on muscles that you can use a machine with. Even though you have used some of the muscles already with dumbbell exercises, these particular muscles were not used very much, therefore it will not diminish your ability to exercise.

Be sure to stretch out your muscle groups after a workout. It is not a good idea to abruptly move from one exercise to another. Instead take a minute or so to properly stretch out the muscles. Muscle growth is actually stimulated by stretching after a workout. It also begins the repair process within the muscles as they begin to cool down. If you take the time to catch your breath in between each workout, you will have a better idea of what you are doing and allow your body to rest. You have to take a break, so why not get a drink and rehydrate at the same time? Just keep in mind that breaks are beneficial.
