Care For New Patients Reducing Fast

by Stephanie Riggle

The recent move by the government of the US in health sector may be counterproductive. Already, many doctors and nurses in private practice are considering quitting the profession. This will negatively affect those seeking medical care for new patients. This move is considered by many to negatively affect the important sector.

The government instituted measures are placing more burdens on the doctors. Physicians believe they have to contend with so much in executing their duties and the rules will make the situation even worse. This will mean that some may not be able to remain in business much longer.

With the disruption of income flow affected, it becomes hard to operate their practice for the long run. The conduct of work is expected to be tuned to the requirements of these regulations. They will try to survive by curtailing the level of operations.

The current situation puts the physicians in a dilemma as they are lost between quitting and continuing to work in the current tough regulations. For those who choose to continue, the service they render may not be high in quality as it used to be. This is bad for the patients.

It has already been observed that there is a drop in the number of admissions in medical school. This means that in future, there may be a shortage of doctors, as bright young people look for other options. The new requirements are casting a dark shadow on the future medical practice.

Seeking employment may be the only viable option left for the doctors. The situation will mean that it becomes hard to access care for new patients as the number of patients will increase more than the medical service providers. If one elects to work in such conditions, the conduct of business becomes very hard. They therefore have to be innovative and come up with better ways of offering services to the sick.
